From Subaru open-source tuning to Pikes Peak race support and 200 mph Texas Mile runs, Keith’s career has been shaped by the cars, people and challenges behind each build. Today, that experience is behind Calibrations LLC.
Keith has been tuning since 2005. His work through AWD Tuning connects the early Subaru open-source community with years of dyno development, competition builds and hands-on troubleshooting.
That background is still visible in the community’s archives. RomRaider’s Professional Tuner Directory lists Keith Fields and AWDTuning in its Central US section, describing Subaru open-source tuning, dyno tuning, remote tuning and engine-management work. See Keith’s RomRaider listing ↗.
In his DFW Subies interview, Keith describes leaving a career in IT to build a business where he could take personal responsibility for the work. He recalls buying his Subaru in 2005, spending years testing combinations and calibrations, then building a following through word of mouth and tuning trips. That demand eventually led to a dedicated shop. Hear Keith tell the story, starting at 26:49 ↗.
For Keith, tuning means understanding the complete vehicle: its hardware, fuel, mechanical condition and the way its owner intends to use it. Peak output is one part of the work. Drivability, useful response and a clear conversation about the build matter too.
At Calibrations LLC, you can discuss your setup directly with Keith, whether you need a custom Subaru tune, supported COBB Accessport e-tuning, standalone ECU calibration or help diagnosing a difficult engine-management problem.
PIKES PEAK INTERNATIONAL HILL CLIMB
Support on the mountain. Experience beyond the dyno.
2011: Brianne Corn’s class-winning STI
The team’s contemporary build account documents AWD Tuning’s engine build, custom factory-ECU calibration and crew support for Brianne Corn’s 2005 Subaru STI. Brianne went on to win the 2011 Time Attack 4WD title in 11:56.422, a result recorded in the event’s official history.
Keith also identifies tuning Dave “Texas Dave” Carapetyan’s rental Subaru STI as part of his Pikes Peak work. A contemporary 2011 team journal documents Dave renting a Subaru to Spanish driver Carlos Martínez de Campos for the Time Attack 4WD division.
The official Pikes Peak archive lists Carlos in a 2005 Rally Ready STI, recording 13:10.161. Later coverage of his entry credits photography to AWDTuning and Motul.
Tuning credit is based on Keith’s firsthand account; the linked sources document the rental entry, driver and result.
2012: Keith’s on-event troubleshooting
Vorshlag’s 2012 race report names Keith at AWD Tuning as the person who fixed boost leaks during Brianne’s Friday practice. The report describes the resulting improvement in part-throttle response before the team’s fastest practice run of the day.
Race results are credited to the drivers and their teams. Keith’s role is described separately through contemporary reporting and his firsthand account.
