MARY FIELDS · 2009 LEGACY SPECB · COBB

Mary’s Legacy. Built to run.

A full AWD Tuning build with results on the dyno, at the half-mile and down the drag strip. I calibrated Mary’s Legacy through the COBB Accessport as the engine, turbo and supporting hardware developed.

QUARTER-MILE · 2016

9.93 sec

at 144 mph

173 mph at the Texas half-mile in 2015.

Two milestones. Two stages of the same Legacy.

BUILD HISTORY
EFR 9180 → Precision 6870

NOVEMBER 2015 · WANNAGOFAST TEXAS

173 mph in the half-mile.

The earlier combination paired a sleeved AWD Tuning Stage 4 engine with a Full Race twin-scroll kit and BorgWarner EFR 9180. AWD’s November 16, 2015 video documents the 173-mph run and describes a COBB-tuned E85 setup.

The period build list includes JE pistons, Pauter X-beam rods, a stock STI crank, GSC S3 cams, oversized valves and ported heads. It also lists a stock six-speed transmission, Driveshaft Shop rear axles and carbon-fiber driveshaft, and KW coilovers.

SEPTEMBER 2016 · QUARTER-MILE

Into the nines: 9.93 at 144.

By the September 13, 2016 video, the Legacy had moved to a Precision 6870, a revised engine combination and drag-focused suspension. AWD’s footage records the 9.93-second pass at 144 mph.

The accompanying build description reports 803 whp and 639 wtq at 40 psi on E80, using the stock ECU and COBB Accessport. Those figures describe this later configuration; the original November 2015 dyno peaks are listed separately below.

NOVEMBER 2015 · ORIGINAL MUSTANG ACTIVEREPORT

752.6 hp. 600.8 lb-ft.

The original PowerDyne ActiveReport for Mary’s 2009 Legacy SpecB records weather-corrected maximum power of 752.6 hp at 6,840 rpm and maximum torque of 600.8 lb-ft at 5,765 rpm. These are the report’s peak fields, not values estimated from a smoothed graph.

AWD’s 2015 half-mile video rounds the setup to 753 whp / 600 wtq on E85. Its description lists 39 psi; the dyno archive filename labels the session 38 psi. The later 803-whp E80 figure belongs to the 2016 configuration above.
