Emissions controls
COBB removed Accesstuner adjustments affecting emissions-related diagnostics and systems, including certain trouble codes, oxygen sensors, catalysts, EGR, TGV and readiness settings.
COBB ACCESSPORT / A PRACTICAL GUIDE
What changed, what it means for your Subaru or other supported COBB vehicle, and what Keith needs to check before your next tune.
Explore e-tuning ↗Project Green Speed is COBB’s emissions-compliance initiative. It affects the hardware, maps and tuning tools available for supported vehicles. It does not mean that all Accessport tuning has ended.
The practical starting point is your exact vehicle, parts and fuel—not just a stage number. An OTS map needs to match its published requirements; a custom tune needs a supported combination that Keith can evaluate.
COBB removed Accesstuner adjustments affecting emissions-related diagnostics and systems, including certain trouble codes, oxygen sensors, catalysts, EGR, TGV and readiness settings.
Some older analog Subaru and Nissan flex-fuel strategies depended on factory sensor inputs and diagnostic changes. Those methods were removed from the supported tuning software.
Opening or revising an older calibration with current software may remove features or adjustments that are no longer supported. Review the setup before planning changes.
Yes. COBB’s FAQ explains that custom tuning remains available. The 2022 changes targeted Accesstuner, the tuner’s editing software; they did not erase maps already stored on an Accessport or end the device’s basic functionality.
That does not establish whether a particular old map suits your current parts or can be revised as expected. Share the existing map information and complete hardware list before a change.
Yes, on supported combinations. COBB now offers CAN-based Subaru flex-fuel packages for specific applications. That is different from assuming an older analog kit still works with a new calibration.
Model year, market, ECU, Accessport, sensor kit and supporting fuel system all matter. Check the current product fitment and discuss the whole setup before buying parts.
A custom tune is not a substitute for repairing a mechanical fault. Green Speed compatibility alone is not a blanket claim that every vehicle, part or custom map has a particular emissions certification.
This guide summarizes COBB’s published information, checked October 1, 2026. Product support can change; the linked manufacturer information governs current fitment.
