CUSTOM REMOTE TUNING WITH KEITH FIELDS

2015–2021 Subaru WRX E-Tuning

Your FA20 WRX, tuned as a complete setup.

I look at how your WRX responds through everyday driving as well as under load. The calibration needs to account for your parts, fuel, engine condition and intended use, with throttle and boost working together.

BEFORE ORDERING

Start with the right information.

Vehicle and tuning tools

This page covers the FA20-powered VA WRX, not the EJ-powered STI. Send the model year, market, transmission, ECU information and Accessport details. Other tuning tools need an individual compatibility review before payment.

Your hardware and fuel

List the exact intake, MAF housing, turbo, intercooler, boost-control hardware and fuel-system modifications. Include engine work and any swaps. Changing hardware or fuel during tuning can change the agreed scope.

Logging and mechanical readiness

For 2015–2017 WRX remote fueling work, plan on an external wideband with a verified logging method. For 2018–2021 cars, I confirm the measurement plan individually. A gauge without usable recorded data is not a substitute for the requested log.

Known misfires, leaks, warning lights or other mechanical issues need to be disclosed. I may request checks before tuning proceeds. Collect logs only as instructed in appropriate, controlled conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

One setup. A clear tuning process.

  1. Setup review: send your vehicle, parts, fuel and goals. I confirm the supported workflow, price and scope.
  2. Invoice and onboarding: pay your customer-specific QuickBooks invoice after approval, then receive instructions.
  3. Log review and revisions: return the requested data and driving feedback in the same email thread. I use that information to develop the calibration.
  4. Completion: follow the instructions supplied with your final file. A base map or intermediate revision is not a completed tune.

Eight revisions for most $400 e-tunes

The included revisions develop the calibration through the agreed datalog process. Downloading a file again does not count as a revision. Hardware or fuel changes, diagnostic work and additional revisions may require a revised scope agreed before work continues. I confirm what your build needs before payment.

Usually same day. Within one business day.

This applies to initial file delivery and each agreed revision once setup approval, payment and all required details or logs are complete. Business hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Pacific. Requests outside these hours begin the next business day. Time collecting logs or resolving vehicle issues is separate; this is not a promise to finish the whole tune in one day.

Base map, OTS or custom e-tune?

A $50 base map is a starting calibration for approved use, with scope confirmed first. It is not a finished tune or permission for full-load driving.

$150 WRX OTS maps are in preparation. Planned ETS, Perrin and COBB variants require exact hardware, fuel and transmission specifications before release. They are not available to purchase yet.

A custom e-tune develops your calibration from the agreed logs and feedback. Tell me how you want the car to behave, including response, power delivery and intended use.
