FACTORY ECU TUNING
What is COBB Accessport?
The Accessport is the handheld used to load a compatible calibration onto your factory ECU and record engine data. The tune itself is developed for the car’s hardware, fuel and goals.

Where it fits
It suits supported Subaru, Porsche, Ford and other factory-ECU applications. For a car that still uses its original engine computer, it can provide a practical route to custom calibration without replacing the ECU.
Software and logging
Think of this as three separate jobs: the tuner develops a map, Accessport Manager moves files between your computer and handheld, and the Accessport writes the selected map to the car. Copying a file to the handheld does not install it in the ECU.
The handheld can also record engine channels as a datalog. Export the original CSV through Accessport Manager and include the map revision and fuel used. My flashing and logging guide covers the steps and Subaru parameter lists.
Buying a used Accessport?
Check the part number, supported vehicle and whether it has been uninstalled from the previous car. An Accessport pairs with one vehicle at a time. Confirm those details before buying a used unit or ordering a tune.
What to send Keith
- Vehicle year, model, market and transmission.
- Accessport part number, installation status and current map.
- Installed parts, available fuel and any previous tuning history.
Before your tuning session
You will need the correct Accessport, its OBD cable, a computer with Accessport Manager, a USB data cable and suitable battery support. Confirm used-device compatibility and pairing status before buying.
Plan the next step
Tell me about your car, the equipment already installed and what you want to improve. I can review the setup before you order a tune or buy more parts.
